Located at the top end of the actuator is a red knob called the Emergency Lowering knob. It can be used in an emergency situation to lower the patient down manually when the lift stops working. To use the Emergency Lowering knob, first, grab the knob. Then pull down on the knob and rotate it in the clockwise direction. Once the knob is let go, it should spring back up. Repeat this motion many, many times until the patient is lowered onto a stable surface. Note that this is a very slow process as each rotation of the knob only lowers the patient by a fraction of an inch, but as a last resort, it can safely get the patient down.
In the event that the Emergency Lowering knob had to be used to get the patient down, please proceed to submit a Product Support Case, and our Support Team can provide further assistance to get the lift back up and running.
